Bad teen HP fanfic is what my childhood is made of. I remember my first fanfic. I never finished it and it never made it to the internet because I wasn’t even aware there were other people writing fanfic at the time but it was really bad.
My very first fan fic is prolly lost to the vageries of the internet. It was Peter/Voldemort getting married in Vegas. It was on the message boards at Diagonalley (RIP digon.org!) in response to some prompting from others on the message boards. (And no, the wayback machine didn’t capture the boards, I checked…)
For me, my time in HP fandom is all tangled up in realizing I was queer. I explored and poked at it through what I can retrospectively call really bad teen fan fic. So … yeah. ♥
My Aunt Pam wrote Duran Duran fic when she was in High School in notebooks. Which would have been late 80s I *think.*
